Many great things are happening at Valley Youth Theatre! We have a new logo and website! SPONGEBOB THE MUSICAL had an extremely successful run and our Sponsor-A-Seat program, not only exceeded our revenue goal, but provided two days of fun for hundreds of young people from throughout the Phoenix Metro Area.
Now our extremely talented staff and hardworking Board Members are moving on to Cinderella and VYTAL, our extremely important Gala!
If that isn't enough, I rode in RAGBRAI L, the 50th anniversary of the "Register's Annual Great Big Ride Across Iowa"---my home state. The event consisted of riding 500 miles over 7 days from July 22-29, 2023. I established a GOFUNDME site and raised over $1800 for VYT! Thanks to everyone who donated to this important cause.
This photo shows riders walking through one of the 40 plus small towns that were on the route.

California Community College Bond Campaigns
After moving from Arizona to California in 2002, it didn't take long to get involved on numerous bond campaigns for community college districts throughout the state. I helped at least 6 districts gain voter approval for in excess of $ 2.5 billion for their facilities.
Arcadia Scottsdale Soccer Club
My involvement with this youth organization began when my two elementary aged daughters decided to play soccer. As often happens with these organizations, there were more kids than coaches!
Even though, as a boy growing up in Iowa I had never played the sport, I agreed to step up and coach my daughter's team rather than see it disbanded. I had no clue what I was doing!
I read every "how-to-coach soccer" book in the library, enlisted the help of other parents, and recruited several other real soccer coaches to help. Although I don't remember our record, I do remember I had a blast.
The next thing I knew, I was asked to be on the Board of the soccer club, which was shortly followed by being elected to be the President of the club.
